Riverwood is a quiet neighborhood of one hundred forty (140) homes, nestled just south of Route 58, east of Godwin Blvd, and west of the Nansemond River. The community is just fifteen minutes to I-664 with an easy commute to nearby Chesapeake and Portsmouth (east), minutes from Isle of Wight and Smithfield (north), and Franklin and Windsor (west).
Residents of Riverwood enjoy the southern charm of downtown Suffolk with its quaint shops and small town atmosphere, against the bustling Harbour View, a planned community of shopping, entertainment, banking, and medical facilities.
Riverwood is a Virginia Common Interest Community Association, a self-managed homeowner association, operated in accordance with the Virginia Property Owners’ Association Act (Va. Code § 55.1-1800) (the “POA Act”).
Riverwood Owners Association, Inc. is managed by an elected Board of Directors, whose current officers (2024) are: Mr. James R. Taylor, President and, Ms. M. Ruth Debrito, Treasurer. Officers are elected for one (1) year.
